Trefloyne Manor: the best of West Wales’ independent businesses

After an icy, snowy winter, a spring issue to warm things up. Trefloyne Manor near Tenby is our cover star, we follow Dylan Thomas around Laugharne, and we pull up a chair at the Sandbar in Tenby and the Tafarn-y-Deri in Llanedi.

Trefloyne Manor, run by husband and wife Tom and Sian Beynon, has just earned its first AA rosette, with head chef Pip Christopher buying fish from Wez straight off Tenby harbour and lamb from the farms next door. The old Dovecote has become treatment rooms, weddings run from ten guests in the cwtch to 200 in a marquee on the lawn, and there is an 18-hole golf course in the grounds that is almost easy to forget.
